Hunky, muscle-bound superhero Stephen Amell stumps for Josh Donaldson's All-Star case
He's taken on Shredder in "TMNT."
He's faced off against Deathstroke in "Arrow."
But Stephen Amell and his amazing, salmon-ladder-climbing abs are now facing their most difficult challenge yet: All-Star voters.
Following in the footsteps of the fashion-forward Don Cherry, the Toronto-born Amell has thrown his support behind Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson. With the Blue Jays hot corner-er trailing the Royals' Mike Moustakas by approximately 1.6 million votes, Toronto's sports elite have stepped up to show their support for the guy who is hitting .309/.362/.564 with 17 home runs.
Vote Donaldson: Esurance MLB All-Star ballot
After watching the Jays in Fenway and Citi Field, Amell knew he needed to act.
Taking to Facebook, Amell made his case:
Facebook!! I want to get Josh Donaldson - third basemen for the Toronto Blue Jays elected to the MLB All Star Game. Here's the link -- http://goo.gl/tFmjT8You can vote 35 times. He's down by 1.6 million votes. Can we do this? I think we can do this. Like, ACTUALLY DO THIS!Posted by Stephen Amell on Tuesday, June 16, 2015
The actor even offered up a prize if viewers helped push him over the top, promising a "four-part Q and A. And maybe one with [Donaldson} ... even though we've never met and he's finding out about this for the very first time."
While that's a pretty good prize, I have one I'd like a bit more: An episode of "Arrow" where Amell does this:
