The Giants have a new, retro-inspired orange jersey

The Giants unveiled a new alternate jersey at their FanFest on Friday and, like so many recent uniform designs, the team looked to the past for inspiration:

Replacing the block-letter wordmark which had appeared on their old orange jersey is a script that previously featured on Giants jerseys between 1977-82. While the jersey Brandon Crawford held in the announcement tweet didn't have a front uniform number, that feature will also return for the first time since 1982. The new jerseys will be worn on Friday night home games.
