Throwing a perfect strike for $1 million is harder than it looks
CC Sabathia signed a huge contract extension last offseason, but even the Yankees' ace doesn't earn a cool million bucks for every perfect strike he throws. That’s exactly what Lydia Santiago of Monroe Township, N.J., had a chance to do Tuesday night.
Along with five other contestants, Lydia took her shot at the big money by attempting to throw a pitch from the Yankee Stadium mound through a baseball-sized cutout behind home plate before Tuesday's game.
None of the contestants -- who won Daily News $1,000,000 Baseball Bingo Contest by matching cards inserted in the paper's Sunday edition -- came especially close to the hole. But it was a memorable day nonetheless for these lucky fans.
