To the relief of everyone sitting behind him, ballboy nails leaping catch

Being a ballboy isn't an easy job. Inning after inning, you dutifully guard the foul line, though most fans wouldn't notice if you were replaced with a uniformed scarecrow. Unless, of course, you're the butt of a prank ...

You're about to collide with an outfielder ...

Or you're cruelly deflating an innocent beachball.

These young men and women don't get no respect. To the untrained eye, their job mostly involves a) sitting and b) watching a ballgame -- which, not to brag, are two things that we're great at.

But Paul Neshek, brother of A's pitcher (and former Twin) Pat, will change your mind about his profession. When a hard-hit foul ball came flying off Alexei Ramirez's bat, this Twins ballboy delivered. He leapt up to make a Major League-caliber catch, heroically protecting the fans behind him (two of whom had their backs turned).

Could you have pulled this off? Didn't think so.

Dane De La Rosa

Brother Pat couldn't be any prouder:

So here's to you, ballboys (and ballgirls). Now go find us the key to the batter's box.
