Two Nationals affiliates got no-hit on the same day ... and one of them actually won

Filed to the Something-You -Don't-See-Every-Day Department: Two separate Nationals affiliates -- the Class A Advanced Potomac Nationals and the Class A Hagerstown Suns -- were no-hit on Wednesday afternoon. The kicker, though? Hagerstown won its game. 

The Suns played the West Virginia Power, and scratched across a run in the top of the first without the benefit of even making contact with the baseball: walk, HBP, double steal, strikeout, walk, strikeout, walk. And at that point, they decided they'd just call it a day and see what happened.

A combination of two pitchers -- relievers Jose Regalado and Eric Dorsch -- held Hagerstown to exactly zero baserunners the rest of the way, but it didn't matter. Hagerstown starter Austen Williams spun 5 1/3 shutout innings himself, and the Suns escaped with what has to be one of the weirdest wins in the history of the game.

Potomac, however, was not so lucky against the Winston-Salem Dash. The Nats managed to avoid a perfect game against Dash righty James Dykstra, but still never actually hit with a runner on-base: Potomac center fielder Rafael Bautista drew a walk in the fourth, only to be immediately picked off before another pitch was thrown. 

So, in all, probably not the best day for the Washington farm system. But they can take comfort knowing that they made Dash mascot Bolt one very happy ... um ... giant fuzzy red thing. Bolt is adorable. Seriously, just look at this guy, Potomac, and know that it was all worth it.
