Two Dodgers forgot they were baseball players and tried to play golf with their bats

Dodgers forget what baseball is, golf with bats

Misfortune befell two Dodgers on Thursday afternoon: Enrique Hernandez and Scott Van Slyke's memories were erased. They forgot that they were baseball players; they forgot even what baseball is.

"What are these wooden, tapered sticks in our hands?" they must have asked. "Why are they so heavy at one end and so light at the other? What could they possibly be used for?" They wandered around Citizens Bank Park completely untethered to any sense of identity.

"Surely the heavy end must go at the bottom, as dictated by gravity," they seemingly thought.

They reverted to playing some sort of golf-like game, though without any clear objective -- aimlessly knocking the ball back and forth.

Thankfully, they seemed to have regained their knowledge by the end of the Dodgers' 10-8 victory over the Phillies, as Van Slyke pinch-hit in the ninth inning and by all accounts held the bat correctly.
