A lot of things need to happen exactly right for a runner to steal home -- which is precisely what makes such a feat so rare.

During Tuesday's Astros-Orioles game, Houston rookie Jonathan Villar saw his stars align in just the right way for him to make a break for the plate from third base.

No one -- not even the broadcasters or the fans -- saw it coming. Wei-Yin Chen is a lefty, so his back was to third base. We couldn't see the runner at third because the camera is trained on the batter's box. For all intents and purposes, Villar was completely invisible.

Until he wasn't.
