Carlos Gomez's biggest fan threw a perfect strike on first pitch
The Beatles. Elvis Presley. One Direction. Carlos Gomez.
What do these four all have in common? They have the power to reduce adolescents to starstruck tears. But unlike those first three, Carlos Gomez helped his number one fan throw out the first pitch at a Brewers game. I'd like to see Harry Styles try that.
After becoming an internet sensation following the footage of her emotional embrace with Gomez at the end of April, 15-year-old Jordan Hynum and her family were given front row seats to the Orioles-Brewers game on Tuesday night. Unbeknownst to Hynum, there was one more surprise awaiting her: she was going to throw out the first pitch.
Were I to be brought onto the field with no preparation, I'm pretty sure I would throw up and then complain of heart palpitations. Her performance was about 1,000 times better than that. The softball-player reared back and fired in a strike, something that 50 Cent failed to do just a few hours prior.
Even better, Gomez hit a three-run home run in his first at-bat of the game. Now how's that for a perfect narrative?
