Kershaw and Jansen battle in impersonation contest
Competing in the same discipline that gave Frank Caliendo a career, Kenley Jansen and Clayton Kershaw took turns impersonating each other's pitching motions before the Dodgers game against the White Sox on Wednesday.
Check out the footage shot by DodgerFilms:
But doing impersonations aren't easy. The impersonator must study his subject closely, zeroing in on the subtle differences that make that person unique. You know, kind of like that cartoonist who keeps drawing you on a dune buggy.
So who won? Was it Jansen who perfectly captured Kershaw's arm stretch and cocked glove hand?
Or was it the reigning Cy Young winner who imitated (with some exaggeration) Jansen's pre-pitch wiggle?
While I have to give the decision to Jansen for his faithful reenactment, we can only hope that this starts a wave of impersonation contests across the league. I'd pay money just to see that.
