Francisco Liriano's first career home run was a 3-run opposite-field blast

In the past, pitchers have asked politely to be invited to the Home Run Derby. But after years of continual snubs, they're starting to put together a more practical argument.

Zack Greinke, Madison Bumgarner, Matt Harvey, Noah Syndergaard, Nathan Karns, Tyson Ross and Travis Wood have all gone yard at least once this year, and during Saturday's Dodgers-Pirates game, Francisco Liriano joined their number:

Since there's no point in doing anything by halves, Liriano hit an opposite-field, three-run shot, which briefly put the Pirates in the lead.
