Adelaide Bite win Game 1 of ABL Championship Series with back-to-back-to-back home runs

Bite win ABL Championship Game 1 on 3 homers in row

It was the bottom of the seventh inning of Game 1 of the ABL Championship Series, and the Adelaide Bite were down 2-0. In close situations like that, sometimes all that's necessary is some classic small ball, getting runners on base and manufacturing runs in any way possible.

Or, you know, just hitting a bunch of home runs and calling it a night. Though Perth Heat starter and former Brewer Mike McClendon had pitched six scoreless innings, allowing only three hits, the Bite took him deep not once, not twice, but three times in a row -- securing an eventual 3-2 victory.

Perhaps we shouldn't be too surprised. Can you believe a guy with a mustache like this does anything other than rake?

Everyone in Adelaide owes batters Stefan Welch, Tom Brice and Mitch Dening at least three back-to-back-to-back high fives.

Tune in to MLB Network for Game 2 of the ABL Championship between the Perth Heat and the Adelaide Bite on Saturday at 3:30 a.m. ET, simulcast live on MLB.com. And if you want to hear Chris Coleman's calls, check out the audio-only broadcast starting at 3:00 a.m. ET here.
