Mark Teixeira used umpire Joe West's stomach to help him make an out at first

Many ballparks have unique architectural features, and the mark of a true athlete is being able to use them to your advantage. Even if they're less architectural and more … organic. As in, they live and breathe and are named Joe West. 

During Sunday's Yankees-Astros game, Mark Teixeira had to use West to shift his momentum so that he could get the out at first. Think of Tex as a pinball and the umpire as a friendly flipper. Just the friendliest -- look at West, cracking a smile! 

So just remember, if you ever need to rapidly change direction, just find the nearest person and push off from their belly like Michael Phelps pushing off the wall for the 200-meter butterfly. We're sure it will go well.
