Wade Davis befriends moth, lets it relax on his hat

Who knows why Wade Davis decided to befriend a tiny moth he saw flitting through the Kansas City night? Maybe he thought it would help him unlock the secrets to extraterrestrial life. Maybe he considers Byron Buxton to be Godzilla and wanted a Mothra on his side. Or maybe he noticed that the Giants were chilling with praying mantises and just wanted a cool bug friend of his own.

We may never know, but we can tell you that in the eighth inning of Tuesday's game against the Twins, he let this little guy hang out with him for a few pitches:
