Welcome to the future: Astros manager A.J. Hinch tweets his team's Opening Day lineup

Astros manager tweets team's Opening Day lineup

Back in the day, MLB managers would post the lineup in their team's clubhouse and then, slowly, that information would trickle down to the beat reporters, the fans at the ballpark, the fans at home and, eventually, the game stories in the next morning's newspaper.

But now, it's Opening Day 2015, and Astros manager A.J. Hinch has decided that we're in the future:

Hinch skipped a few steps and delivered his team's lineup straight to the people via his own Twitter account. Cubs manager Joe Maddon has tweeted a few lineups before, but Hinch picking up on the trend shows that it has some serious staying power.

So, in case you're wondering, here's how you can tell we're living in the future:

1. You can watch nearly any baseball game on your phone, anywhere, using MLB.TV.

2. Managers are tweeting out their own lineups before the game.

3. Furious 7 came out last week.

The future is now.
