With the help of Southpaw, Military mom surprises family at U.S. Cellular Field

In hopes of surprising his 3-year-old granddaughter, Deseray, White Sox fan John Morris requested an in-game visit from Southpaw on Sunday. Along with the White Sox mascot came a much larger surprise -- Deseray's mother, who'd been deployed overseas for the past six months.

A member of the U.S. Navy, Amy recently returned from duty to her base in the States. While serving, her parents care for her child. The distance is hard for Amy, but she tries not to think about it.

"I know she's being taken care of," Amy said. "[But] I'm not there every day when she gets home from school."

Watch the cheers, tears and love unfold in the video. These never get old.
