Yankee fan who took a break from eating sandwich to applaud Robinson Cano is a true American hero

Yanks fan stops eating sandwich to applaud Robinson Cano

On Monday, the Seattle Mariners were in the Bronx for a makeup game when they learned that the boo birds have not relented for Robinson Cano. Booing Cano has been nothing short of en vogue in New York since the second baseman traded in his pinstripes for a 10-year, $240 million contract with the M's during the offseason.

Cano and his .327 average came up to bat in the early goings on Monday when Yankees play-by-play announcer Michael Kay was able to spot a buoy of hope in a vast sea of boos. One triumphant fan stood from his seat, placed his mediocre dinner in his mouth and gave Cano what will undoubtedly go down in history as the most sincere, one-man standing ovation ever witnessed on live television.

Cano Sandwich

We should all strive to be as selfless and appreciative as this one Yankees fan. Maybe with less carbs, though.
