Yoenis Cespedes wore a pseudo-oven mitt on his hand, and the broadcasters loved it

A baseball player earns his money with his hands, and so it makes perfect sense that he'd want to protect them when he's not hitting or fielding.

Yoenis Cespedes's odd-looking grill mitt, clearly, is there to protect him from getting any broken fingers or torn ligaments while running the bases, and it's probably a pretty good idea to wear it.

Does it look like he's getting ready for a 4th of July cookout? Well, sure. Are the announcers having a lot of fun at his expense? Yeah. But hey, we're all for anything that protects a guy who can do stuff like this out on the field:
