AFL Home Run Derby History

Pirates prospect Tony Blanco Jr. earning the victory in the final round of the 2025 Arizona Fall League Home Run Derby, 3-2, to best teammate Esmerlyn Valdez in the annual event at Sloan Park. The duo combined for 40 home runs in the event with Blanco Jr. accounting for 24 of those. The duo made the final round by defeating the other three pairs in the contest before they each had nine swings in the final round.

Sloan Park hosted the 2024 AFL Home Run Derby with Yankees prospect Garrett Martin eking out a victory in the final round, 10-9, over Brewers infielder Brock Wilken. Martin (pictured) hit 26 home runs across three rounds, while Wilken set an AFL Home Run Derby-record with 14 home runs in the opening round.

Sloan Park hosted the 2023 AFL Home Run Derby with Twins prospect Kala'i Rosario winning the final round, 6-5, over Jays infielder Damiano Palmegiani. Rosario (pictured) reached the final round by defeating Ivan Melendez, Kyle Manzardo and Jase Bowen in a one-minute swing-off after they were tied through two rounds.

Mariners prospect Robert Perez Jr. edged Baltimore's Heston Kjerstad, 11-10, in the 2022 Arizona Fall League Home Run Derby at Sloan Park. The pair each had 32 homers across three rounds, leading the stacked field in Mesa. Matt Mervis (CHC) finished third after two rounds with 19 home runs while Andy Pages (LAD) slugged 15 homers.
