Adeiny Hechavarria was no match for Hanley Ramirez's pop fly and the power of the sun
Hanley Ramirez is enjoying his day baseball. He hit a bases-loaded, walk-off single to defeat the Rays in extra innings during the Red Sox's home opener on Thursday, and followed that up by using the power of the sun to get himself on base against Tampa Bay on Saturday. Batting in the bottom of the first, Ramirez popped a ball up to shallow left field. Rays shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria raced back and had a bead on the ball -- except that dastardly sun emerged. Hechavarria then crumpled to the ground in the most athletic way possible when one doesn't make the catch. He even got a backward somersault in there:
The play loaded the bases and helped the Red Sox kick-start a four-run first inning.
