Albert Pujols found himself betrayed when his glove abandoned his hand on a Carlos Gonzalez liner

Players wear gloves for a reason. Catching a baseball is no easy task, and the use of a glove or mitt can significantly increase your chances in successfully making a play.
Albert Pujols is a two-time Gold Glove Award winner for his defensive exploits at first base. He and his glove have a special relationship, one built on a foundation of trust, mutual respect and admiration. 
That's why, when Albert's glove abandoned him on a Carlos González liner in Monday night's Rockies-Angels game in Anaheim, it was a weird scene: 

Here's hoping they make up after Monday's situation, because the pair clearly has a good thing going most of the time:
