On Friday, the Dodgers acquired Granderson in a trade from the Mets. Joining Los Angeles provided Granderson with an opportunity he hadn't yet had in his 14-year career: honoring Robinson in Dodger blue. Needless to say, this was a big deal for him:
Wearing those socks, Granderson crushed a go-ahead grand slam (his first with the Dodgers) in their 6-5 win over the Pirates on Monday night, just his third game with the club. Here are those high socks in action:
