David Ortiz hit a magical disappearing ball that was lost in the Boston sky

David Ortiz very well may be magic. Between his penchant for clutch homers, his ability to hit homers powered by selfies or the fact that he's leading the league in OPS at the age of 40, the DH likely has a diploma from the Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry.
He showed off his otherworldly abilities again during Saturday's Royals-Red Sox game. Coming up in the bottom of the first inning, Ortiz hit a high popup. Whether because of the evening sky in Boston, or because Ortiz muttered "reducto" -- reducing the ball to a fine dust before undoing the spell right before it hit the Earth -- we can't be certain.
Considering that multiple Royals fielders had no idea where the ball was, we definitely can't rule out magical forces, though:

Of course, the counterpoint to all this is that Ortiz was later thrown out at second base, so he definitely wasn't apparating there.
