Denard Span hit the Giants' 19th consecutive solo homer and then told his mom he loved her

The Giants have hit A LOT of solo home runs in a row over the last couple of weeks. 18, to be exact, entering their game against the Cubs on Wednesday night. And wouldn't you know it, in the top of the third inning at Wrigley Field, Denard Span joined the solo tater-mashing party with one of his own. That's 19 straight. That deserves a shoutout to mom:

The Giants are now just two away from tying the longest solo home run streak in the last 48 years. That record is held by them in 2011 -- a squad that featured big-fly boppers such as Pat Burrell and Miguel Tejada. 

Giants: 19 consecutive solo homers, 2nd-longest streak in the divisional era behind the Giants team in 2011 that hit 21 straight solo HR.

What are the chances of a team doing what the Giants are doing right now? Apparently, about 1 in 50,000.
UPDATE: Mac Williamson broke the streak with a two-run homer in the ninth inning. Unfortunately for San Francisco, it wasn't enough, as the Cubs won, 5-4.
