This unbelievable bat flip from Fernando Tatis Jr. proves that winter is still baseball season

(Chesterton, Eric)

Padres shortstop prospect Fernando Tatis Jr. spent all of 2018 dominating the Texas League as a 19 year-old. This offseason, the No. 2 prospect in baseball has taken his talents to the Dominican Winter League to play for Estrellas Orientales ... and wouldn't you know, he's still dominating.
On Thursday, the Orientales entered the bottom of the ninth inning tied with Tigres del Licey, 3-3. After hitting two singles to lead off the inning, Tatis came to the plate and sent his third dinger of the season over the left-field fence to win the game:

A walk-off three-run home run is nice and all, but the real highlight here is the bat flip. Tatis looks like he tried to launch it as high into the air as he could:

This isn't the first time Tatis has shown off his power and bat flips this winter. Based on his performance in the Dominican Republic, Padres fans have plenty of reason to be excited to see him in San Diego in 2019.
