The Rockies offense was inspired by a special appearance from the Coors Field Rally Hawks
Earlier this season, the Rockies made a shocking discovery: A family of red-tail hawks had made its nest on top of the left-center field scoreboard. No, seriously:
But this isn't just any family of red-tailed hawks perched atop a giant light tower. These are hawks with magical powers -- specifically, magical baseball powers. These are ... Rally Hawks. They emerged in the bottom of the sixth inning of Colorado's 8-3 win over the Phillies, soaring over the field to observe the action:
And then, sensing that the Rockies had a runner in scoring position, they inspired Brandon Barnes to drive him home:
If only these hawks had been able to fly to Omaha, perhaps the rally oar would have been successful after all.
