Breaking: John Axford's picks for the 2016 Oscars are in

John Axford is an expert on a great many subjects: Facial hair, Trade Deadline reporting, creative cable solutions. But above all, the A's reliever is a film buff -- he participated in the Milwaukee Film Festival for years, graduated from Notre Dame with a B.A. in Film and Television and even debuted his very own documentary last year.
And, like all film buffs, he gets super pumped about the Oscars. More specifically, he gets super pumped about crushing his Academy Award predictions: Axford went 14-for-15 in 2013, a perfect 18-for-18 in 2014 and, in his first year picking every category, 17-for-24 in 2015 -- good enough for 49 out of 57 correct picks over a three-year span. So, when ABC was looking for a panel of Oscars experts to weigh in on the 2016 race, there was only one man to call.

Who did MLB's awards whisperer go with this year? Axford is predicting big things for "The Revenant," picking the film to win Best Picture, Best Director (Alejandro G. Inarritu) and Best Actor (Leonardo DiCaprio). He also went with Brie Larson for Best Actress and Sly Stallone for Best Supporting Actor, and you can read/shamelessly copy his full selections below:
