The A's are naming their field after Rickey Henderson, but it's been his since 1991

Rickey Henderson played 886 games at Oakland Coliseum, swiping 435 of his 1,406 stolen bases there. He dominated that field as decisively as a player can and, on Monday, the A's made it officially his: They will be naming the field at the Coliseum "Rickey Henderson Field" come Opening Day.
But really, the field has been Henderson's since 1991. On May 1 of that season, Henderson stole the 939th base of his career, passing Lou Brock as the most prolific basestealer of all time. After swiping third in a 7-4 victory over the Yankees, Henderson promptly popped up, lifted the base and claimed it as his own:

Henderson played 11 more seasons in MLB, but he was already, in his own words, "the greatest of all time:"

We're not sure if that's how Henderson opened his interview to become a special assistant to the president for the A's, but he'll be working in the A's front office this season, too.
