Shohei Ohtani was the first Japanese player to get a hit in his first at-bat since ... Yu Darvish?
One of the bigger storylines baseball fans were excited to follow this season was the debut of two-way Japanese player Shohei Ohtani. And they didn't have to wait long to see him in action.
In the top of the second inning during the Angels-A's game on Opening Day, Ohtani smacked a single to right field:
