Dee Gordon got into Ryon Healy's territory on a popup, so Healy directed him back to second

The Mariners welcomed Dee Gordon back to the lineup on Thursday for 6-1 victory over the Rangers. The team was happy about Gordon's return, but he might have had a little bit of rust during his first inning back in the field.
With Robinson Canó out of the equation, Gordon was making just his fourth start at second base this year. He didn't appear there at all in Spring Training and he didn't get much of a chance to work with first baseman Ryon Healy, since he was preparing for a position switch to the outfield.
This was evident when Delino DeShields led off the game with a popup toward Healy. Gordon's instincts took over as he charged toward the ball and caught it ... right behind a bemused Healy:

You tell that whippersnapper, Ryon!
Given Gordon's long history at second, he and Healy will be clicking on all cylinders before too long. Gordon made up for it anyway by leading off the bottom of the first with a triple and scoring on a sacrifice fly.

That would win anyone over.
Gordon got to be sassy on his own anyway in the seventh, when Jean Segura ranged over from shortstop into his territory for a popup:

Dee learned from the best.
