The Tigers paid tribute to Aretha Franklin by putting her songs in Thursday's game notes

The city of Detroit lost one of its legends on Thursday, as Motown icon Aretha Franklin passed away. The singer was also a familiar face at Comerica Park, where she sang the national anthem at the 2011 American League Championship Series:

It was sad to lose someone whose voice was as incredible as Aretha's, but the Tigers found a clever way to memorialize her -- with the help of her own music:

They're all excellent, but we're big fans of using "Until You Come Back to Me" to provide an injury update on Daniel Norris and "Call Me" to promote tickets for the remainder of the season.

It was an inspired and touching tribute to a nonpareil artist.
