Landon Donovan thinks soccer's 'foot-eye coordination' translates well to baseball
You could make a compelling case for referring to retired soccer player Landon Donovan as the real-life Captain America. After all, he was captain of the U.S. Men's National Team, and though he's hung up his cleats/shield now, he's still the country's all-time leader in scoring. He also tops the list of American men with most World Cup goals, as well as the list of all-time MLS scorers, with 144 goals. And he has the most assists, with 136, so you know he's helpful like any Captain America should be.<o:p>
You get it -- Donovan is a pretty good soccer player. This year, he played in the 2016 All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game, and he got to show off his speed with an inside-the-park home run (OK, fine, a triple that turned into an inside-the-parker, thanks to an error by Switchfoot bassist Tim Foreman):
