Mookie Betts is on a tear right now. He has eight hits in his last three games, including a double, two triples and two home runs. On Friday night against the Astros, after leading the game off with a triple, he ended up just a home run shy of the cycle. What we're saying is -- fair warning to any man, beast or inanimate structure that dares get in his way.

In the second inning, with the Red Sox already up 2-0, Betts banged an RBI double that shattered a panel in the left field scoreboard. If you're looking for a metaphor, well, a player who's heating up putting a literal hole in a scoreboard is definitely a metaphor.
