Jason Heyward could only tip his helmet after Randal Grichuk robbed him of a hit

When Jason Heyward walloped a pitch to deep right-center field during the seventh inning of the Cubs' 4-1 win over the Cardinals on Monday night, he probably thought he got himself a leadoff hit. Randal Grichuk, however, thought otherwise:

Yes, in a night that featured eight no-hit innings from Kyle Hendricks and some impressive Cubs defense to back it up, Grichuk's catch might just have been the play of the game. 
Not that Heyward, as a purveyor himself of highlight-reel catches that break hitters hearts, can really complain. In fact, he ended Jeremy Hazelbaker's at-bat early in the previous frame with one of his own, acquainting himself intimately with some Cardinals fans sitting in the front rows:
