Watch this gorgeous short film about Daniel Norris' offseasons travels in his van

When we think of baseball players, we sometimes reduce them to a series of numbers that can fit on a baseball card or a television graphic. But that's not true - Major Leaguers are still human beings with off-the-field interests and dreams. 
Daniel Norris is one of the best examples of this. He's a promising young starter who stabilized the Tigers' rotation over the season's final two months. 

He also defeated thyroid cancer that threatened to destroy his career at a pivotal moment.
And he's the only Major Leaguer who chooses to live out of his VW van -- named Shaggy -- during the offseason. Caring only about the open road or finding some waves to surf during his vacation months, Norris is living the life you dreamed of when you were 16 years old.
Yeti followed Norris around during his adventures last season and put together a short film that is about as close as we'll ever get to a baseball movie by Terrence Malick. Click below for a taste of Norris' unique winter lifestyle:
