The Yankees gave fans an extra thrill by greeting them at the gate before the AL Wild Card Game

The Bronx has been the setting for countless classic playoff moments, so it's been strange to see Yankee Stadium mostly absent from the postseason these past couple years. Before hosting Tuesday's AL Wild Card Game, the Yankees decided to give those who made the trip a treat.
As their fans entered the stadium, they were greeted by some surprising hosts -- the Yankees themselves:

That's reliever Ben Heller giving firm handshakes to some very confused fans. What was he doing there?
Well, neither Heller, Jaime García nor Masahiro Tanaka were needed on the Yankees' roster for the one-game playoff, so instead, they served as the Yankees' official welcoming squad.
Even the young fans got to say hello!

Pretty nice to be greeted at the Wild Card Game by a guy with the type of talent to start said game.
The Yankees won the game, 8-4, setting up Game 1 of the ALDS against the Indians, starting on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET on FS1.
