Why Jr. Home Run Derby?
FUN, FREE, MLB
We’re so excited to bring the MLB’s Jr. Home Run Derby (Jr. HRD) to your community! It’s a free event for softball and baseball players, ages 12 to 16. Your child can showcase their hitting skills and compete against their peers. The best part? Winners earn a week-long, all-expenses-paid trip for them and one guardian to All-Star Weekend, where the Jr. Home Run Derby National Finals will take place at T-Mobile Park during 2023 All-Star Game in Seattle.
This is a perfect opportunity to let your child feel like a pro as they step up to the plate and swing away.

How Jr. Home Run Derby works:
Field fences are set to a specific distance for softball (150 ft) and baseball (200 ft) players.
Each participant gets 25 pitches, or three minutes to hit as many home runs as possible. Pitches are delivered by a pitching machine.
The top four participants in each age group advance to the final round.
The winner from each age group is put in the running to qualify for a Regional Competition based on their final home run derby total.
Winners at the Regional Competitions then earn an all-expenses-paid trip for them and one guardian to go to the National Finals, which takes place at T-Mobile Park during All-Star Weekend.
