LEED Certification

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification is offered to new or existing buildings that adhere to strict guidelines for environmental responsibility by using less water and energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and creating less environmental burden on their communities.


LEED Plaque
Seven Major League Ballparks are LEED-certified in various aspects of their operations such as water and energy efficiency, materials & resources conservation, innovation in interior & exterior design and location & transportation enhancements.
Two Major League Spring Training Facilities are LEED-certified, including Salt River Fields at Talking Stick (home of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies) and FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches (home of the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals). Salt River Fields at Talking Stick was the first LEED Gold sports venue of its kind in the U.S. when it opened in 2011.
