The Reds Community Fund (RCF) is focused on developing student-athletes into Major League Citizens through one of its newest programs, RCF Scholars. By equipping children and young adults with the support and resources they need to succeed off the field, the RCF is fostering a positive environment and opening doors to endless opportunities for the next generation of leaders.
This immersive, year-long curriculum combines individualized high-level athletic training with academic support and life skills
development for each high school student-athlete in the Reds Nike RBI program.
RCF Scholars just wrapped up its third year of programming which included 153 student-athletes, made up of 83 male baseball players and 70 female softball players.
RCF Scholars uses the unique platform created by competitive baseball/softball and combines it with focused, expertly designed programming to build student-athletes in the following areas:
- Mental/Emotional — Create opportunities for RCF Scholars to develop their personal strengths into leadership skills and roles in
the community. - College Awareness & Access — Create pathways to college by providing RCF Scholars with tools to improve admissions and
scholarship success, and expose them to diverse campus cultures. - Workforce Awareness & Access — Create pathways to the workforce by exposing RCF Scholars to diverse career fields.
- Physical — Create opportunities for RCF Scholars to experience the next level of the game.
