--
When speaking of St. Louis, the Gateway Arch is just about the only thing that comes to mind before baseball.
And for the past decade, the city's skyline has reflected that.
The newest iteration of Busch Stadium opened in 2006, and became the first stadium in nearly a century to host the World Series champions in its debut season. The new park is a baseball-only facility that honors the franchise's legends with statues that originally surrounded the former Busch Stadium.
The park opens in the outfield to provide stunning views of the arch. Cardinals fans from all over can congregate at the downtown ballpark, which has grown a neighborhood around it teeming with team pride.
-Ballpark Village: Even when the team is on the road, this is the center of Cardinals Nation, a huge entertainment complex that gives fans a central gathering spot right outside the park.
