Carlos Ruiz hit the Dodgers' first pinch-hit, multi-RBI postseason home run since Kirk Gibson

With the Dodgers trailing the Nationals by three runs in the fifth inning and a runner on first during their 8-3 loss in NLDS Game 3, Carlos Ruiz came in as a pinch-hitter for reliever Pedro Báez. Ruiz went homerless in the 14 games he played with the Dodgers during the regular season after coming over from the Phillies, but he took a pitch from Gio Gonzalez and deposited it over the left-field wall to bring Los Angeles within one:

It was the Dodgers' first pinch-hit postseason homer since Orlando Hudson's Game 5 of the 2009 NCLS … but more importantly, as Ryan Spaeder points out, it was the Dodgers' first pinch-hit multi-RBI postseason home run since this:

Now, Ruiz wasn't coming in after missing the rest of the game injured, this wasn't the ninth inning or in the World Series and the Dodgers didn't walk off, but other than that, Ruiz is basically the new Kirk Gibson.
