Joining the Orioles was a long time coming for veteran pitcher Dan Straily

Pitcher Dan Straily was in a bind when the Marlins released him near the end of Spring Training. It didn't leave much time before the start of the regular season, so the veteran righty was without a team when Opening Day came around.

Thankfully for Straily, it didn't take long for him to find a team. He signed a one-year deal with the Orioles on Friday, and in doing so, he turned a photo from his childhood into reality:

You have to admire that retro Little League look. The giant hat is wonderful, and its strange orange color perfectly matches the jersey.

Don't get us wrong -- newer Little League jerseys are perfectly fine. We would've had a lot of fun wearing these, too. They match the Majors so well.

However, there's still something to be said about the simplicity of those '90s kits.

Regardless of Little League style, the Orioles were delighted to make this long-awaited union with Straily happen.
