David Ross helped Jason Heyward warm up with a quick game of catch from the right-field seats

David Ross has been retired from MLB for seven months now. He's on to a new chapter in his life, one full of dancing and television appearances and novelty cereals
That doesn't mean he's forgotten all of his former Cubs teammates, though -- when you snap a 108-year curse together, you're bonded for life. So, with he and the rest of the ESPN Sunday Night Baseball crew calling Chicago's 7-6 win over the Cardinals from the right-field bleachers, Ross took the opportunity to help Jason Heyward warm up:

As it turns out, this had been in the works for a while.
"It was pre-planned," Heyward told MLB.com's Carrie Muskat. "For him, doing his ESPN thing, he asked me about it, and I was like, 'Sure.' I'm happy to see him doing well and having fun and enjoying the other side of things. I never thought about seeing that."
It's been too long since he got to show off that arm.
