A bald eagle celebrated its freedom on July 4 ... right out Dodger Stadium's center-field gate
The bald eagle -- a symbol as American as apple pie and the stars and stripes. To celebrate the Fourth of July prior to their 7-5 win over the Orioles on Monday, the Dodgers brought in two bald eagles from the L.A. Zoo for a flight around Dodger Stadium. The birds were majestic, embodying the strength and dignity of our nation:
And then, like America itself, one of the eagles took some time on July 4 to celebrate its independence -- by soaring right on out of an open gate in center field:

Happily, no animals were harmed in the making of this video. Our hero simply flew past his mark ... and landed near the L.A. Zoo's van, where he waited for his handler to arrive and take both eagles home to the zoo. The D-backs, however, aren't so sure they've got the right birds:
