Elvis Andrus tripped over the mound and somehow held on for the out
"Watch your step, for dangers abound."
"WARNING: Not quicksand, but risesand! And well, that's not a thing. Also, it's not sand, but a mound of dirt. Look out!"
If not for the fact that having signs all around the pitching mound would only create more accidents -- and create some really weird situations with ground balls -- it would probably be a good idea to have them. Elvis Andrus was reminded of this fact during the Rangers' 3-2 victory over the Astros. Evan Gattis -- who one night earlier crushed a massive, nearly-dome-scraping dinger to force the game to extras -- hit another one up, but not nearly as far, in the top of the fifth.
Unfortunately for Andrus, it was over the mound. But unfortunately for Gattis, the Rangers shortstop was able to hold on.
While no one feels cool mid-trip, Andrus made his descent positively photogenic.
