The Padres should be happy that Eric Hosmer already has an excellent Petco Park resume
The Padres made a huge splash late on Saturday night when they signed
If the past is any indication, Hosmer calling Petco Park home should be a positive for both him and the Padres. Although he only has limited experience at Petco Park in his career, the first baseman has absolutely raked. In 12 games between the regular season, World Baseball Classic and the 2016 All-Star Game, he has hit .458/.481/.813 with five homers and 19 RBIs.

Hosmer took the national stage again in March 2017, when he was the primary first baseman for Team USA during its ride to the World Baseball Classic title. Their second round of play took place at -- you guessed it -- Petco Park. Hosmer went 5-for-11 in the three games there, highlighted by a game-winning two-run homer in Team USA's showdown against Venezuela:
It wasn't long before Hosmer was back at Petco Park. The Royals visited the Padres in June for Hosmer's first regular-season play there since 2014. He promptly returned to his power-hitting ways with a pair of dingers in the three games:
