Francisco Cervelli and Josef Martinez met up for an unconventional offseason workout

(Chesterton, Eric)

At this point, we're accustomed to seeing baseball players engage in crazy offseason workouts. We've seen players run really fast, lift absurdly heavy objects and even push cars across sand. In other words, we've seen a lot of impressive workouts of all different varieties.
On Thursday, Pirates catcher Francisco Cervelli met up with MLS MVP and Atlanta United FC star Josef Martinez for an offseason workout and it was unlike any you've ever seen before:

Cervelli posted a career-best 12 home runs in 2018 as a 32-year-old, so it's clear there's some magic in these combination yoga and martial arts workouts. That agility certainly won't hurt behind the plate either.
