Francisco Cervelli made sure that Pittsburgh had time to welcome Andrew McCutchen back to PNC Park

On Friday night, Andrew McCutchenreturned to Pittsburgh for the first time since being traded to the Giants back in January. It was an emotional scene, the man who was drafted by and spent his first nine seasons with the Pirates -- one of the most beloved athletes ever to play in the Steel City -- back at PNC Park in a different uniform.
Of course, the fans in attendance weren't about to let the former face of the franchise step to the plate without a standing ovation. But catcher Francisco Cervelli wanted to be safe: So he made sure that Cutch couldn't bring the applause to an end, even if he wanted to.

Cervelli stood a few steps away from home plate for a solid 90 seconds, leaving McCutchen with no choice but to soak up all the love Pittsburgh could give him. After all, what are former teammates for?
