Madison Bumgarner hit a pinch-hit double and then Jeff Samardzija pinch-ran for him, scored

Matt Cain was pitching very well on Sunday -- having held the Nationals hitless through five innings at AT&T Park. But he was at 93 pitches, so instead of batting for himself in the bottom of the fifth inning, Bruce Bochy sent up a pinch-hitter. And by pinch-hitter, we mean Madison Bumgarner -- one of the best pinch-hitters in all the land. Of course, Bumgarner doubled off the right-field wall:

And then, because Bochy is a maniacal, fun baseball genius, he sent in fellow, long-haired starting pitcher Jeff Samardzija to pinch-run for Bumgarner. The Shark ended up scoring a run on a throwing error by Anthony Rendon to make the score, 2-0, Giants:

San Francisco ended up winning the game, 3-1, giving us a dream dose of #PitchersWhoPitch, #PitchersWhoPinchHit, #PitchersWhoRake, #PitchersWhoPinchRun and #PitchersWhoWin. Thanks, pitchers, for making history:
