Marcus Semien was inches away from hitting a game-tying home run, but Edwin Diaz got the last laugh

The Mariners edged out a close 3-2 victory over the A's on Tuesday night, but not without some last-second drama.
After the Mariners took the lead in the top of the 10th, closer Edwin Diaz came in to try and lock down the save. After notching two quick outs via strikeout and groundout, A's shortstop Marcus Semien stepped into the box.
On a 1-1 count, Semien ripped a ball down the left field line. A's and Mariners fans alike held their breath as the ball flew towards the left field bleachers, only to go just foul by what appeared to be less than a foot. Diaz certainly knew how close he was giving up the lead:

Diaz struck out Semien on the next pitch, completing the Houdini act and earning his AL-leading 16th save.
