Miles Mikolas, the pitcher who eats lizards, crushed the first pitcher homer of 2018

Miles Mikolas, who has spent the last few years playing baseball in Japan, returned to the Majors with the Cardinals for the 2018 season. The 29-year-old got the start (and the win) in Monday's 8-4 victory against the Brewers. He pitched pretty well, giving up four runs while striking out five over 5 and 2/3 innings. He also crushed the first pitcher home run of the year:

It was Mikolas' first MLB hit and it was a doozy -- traveling at 106.1 mph, according to Statcast™. That's the fastest exit velocity ever recorded off a Cardinals pitcher's bat and it would've been the sixth-fastest by a pitcher in 2017
How did Mikolas do it? Weights? Green smoothies? Hamburgers? Nope. He eats lizards. He's a #PitcherWhoRakesAndEatsLizards.

So, remember kids: Work hard, stay in school and eat your lizards.
