Miles Mikolas, the pitcher who eats lizards, crushed the first pitcher homer of 2018
It was Mikolas' first MLB hit and it was a doozy -- traveling at 106.1 mph, according to Statcast™. That's the fastest exit velocity ever recorded off a Cardinals pitcher's bat and it would've been the sixth-fastest by a pitcher in 2017.
How did Mikolas do it? Weights? Green smoothies? Hamburgers? Nope. He eats lizards. He's a #PitcherWhoRakesAndEatsLizards.
So, remember kids: Work hard, stay in school and eat your lizards.
